In January 2025, investors’ wealth at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) reached a staggering KSh 2.07 trillion, equivalent to approximately USD 15.98 billion. This was an increase from the USD 10.8 billion recorded at the start of 2024.

Stocks or shares represent partial ownership in a company, which means that when you purchase them, you are entitled to a claim on the company’s earnings and assets. Stocks allow an investor to be part of a company’s growth. So, if a company’s share price goes up, an investor can profit if they sell those shares at a higher price. They also earn through dividends.
