Fitness instructor Munyi Kariithi opened a gym just a few months before WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic. But despite all the challenges the pandemic has triggered, he is still upbeat and optimistic that business will pick up as the economy gears up for a recovery.
In November 2019, Munyi Kariithi opened a gym after years of toying with the idea of becoming a fitness instructor. Like every small business owner, raising capital to get the business off the ground was a challenge, but he managed to clear that hurdle.
Then another hurdle of global proportions presented itself – the pandemic – hit the following year in March 2020. Here is how he has managed to persevere and stay afloat.
